BIG SUCCESS FOR
RETURN OF PRECEPTORS EVENT
The Chelsea Lodge Preceptors social event triumphantly returned
recently to the enjoyment and acclaim of all who attended. As a
result, it will now become a regular date in the Chelsea Social
diary with next year’s event scheduled for Sunday October 3rd –
Make a note in your diary.
It was held at the Mountbatten Hotel in London’s Covent Garden,
over fifty members, partners, friends, children and even a Mum
attended. All agreed it was an extremely successful and value
for money event with a great atmosphere, delicious food (choice
per course) as much wine as you could drink all followed by a
traditional Chelsea cabaret with Bros. Ron Smiley, Miki Travis
and Mick Abrahams providing the entertainment, expertly held
together by MC W.Bro. Roger de Courcey. All at a cost less than
the price of a meal at the Connaught! (the event not Roger’s
fee!)
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially the
children, to whom Miki directed part of his act. Speeches, as
you would expect, were kept to the absolute minimum.
The event, organised by the Chelsea LOI, was held to honour and
thank Our Director of Ceremonies and Preceptor, W.Bro. Michael
Ramsden who, for all his hard work and dedication to the Lodge
thoroughly deserved such a great day.
The only problem is that next year we will almost certainly have
to look for a bigger venue, as following on from this success,
numbers are expected to increase dramatically. Don’t forget,
this event is open to members and partners, non members and
children.
