Company director. Born 31 March 1933. He enjoyed a professional career in land and property development progressing to appointment at board level of a publicly quoted company with subsequent profit and loss responsibility as managing director within the leisure, retails and public service industries. He has served with numerous professional and voluntary bodies in the pubic and private sectors including Fellow, Council and Founder Member of the Incorporated Guild of Surveyors; Fellow of the Architects and Surveyors Institute; Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Builders; Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors; Lay Member Independent Tribunals Social Services Appeals Tribunal; Member Police Consultative Committee; Vice Chairman Independent Monitoring Board, HM Wormwood Scrubs Prison (Home Office appointment); and National Interviewer Independent Monitoring Board in addition to Trustee of a charity managing homes for mental health in Camden and Brent and Care in the Community and Fund Raiser for MENCAP, Windsor.

 

 

Tom was a Grand Commander of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Freeman of the City of London, member of the Guild of Freeman, Liveryman Guild of Plumbers and Companion of the Grand Order of Water Rats. He was a member of many Craft Lodges including Upper Thames No.6138 - WM 1982-1984; Columbia No.2397 - WM 1989-1990 and 19921993; Lodge of Brotherly Union No.8649 -WM 1998-1999 - resigned 2002; Founder Member New Morning Lodge No.9207 - WM 1987-1988 resigned 1998; Justice and Peace Lodge No.8668 WM 1997-1998; Barbican Lodge No.8494 - WM 1999-2000; Founder Member Steadfast Lodge No.9654; Motspur Lodge No.6106 - WM 20042005; and Westminster City Lodge No.2882. Tom held Senior London Grand Chapter Rank and is a member of various Royal Arch Chapters. These include Redwood No.3411; Faith No.141; Columbia No.2397; New Morning No.9207 and Chelsea No.3098. Thomas O'Farrell joined Chelsea Lodge 15 May 1992
